Literature Text

She could taste the freedom, just running around, no nurses, no guards, no white walls, just the cold wind on her dry face, as the sharp winter wind stung at her half bald head, while also brushing through her long, dyed, black hair. If you saw her from a distance, you could easily spot that she was crazy. Rolling around on the snow, with a straight jacket on, bare feet, and a half shaved head. She had cold, icy blue eyes, her cheeks stained with tears, a dirty complexion, and mud covered clothing. She just kept running, her feet turning blue, but she didn't care, she was free.

After Subject X was satisfied and done with frolicking, she remembered what she had to do. She had sworn revenge on the one place she hated most. The school where she had been ridiculed, treated like an animal, then, hauled off, and locked behind those soft, blank, white walls she has spent two years staring at, talking to, crying to it and begging for escape. The school was Sky High Secondary School; it was named that because, for some stupid reason, they built it at 1150m above sea level.

She shuddered with anger as she remembered her old life. It was completely normal…Way too normal for her liking. And then, the day she finally snapped, they called the Funny Farm and there she was, one moment she was in her class room screaming at everybody, and the next she was strapped to a bed, with people telling me, "It's for the best" and "You're going to get help." As she was standing there, getting rage filled, a few girls walked past her, giggling. It was like the whole world stood still, as Subject X saw their uniforms and looked up to find she had ended up right in front of Sky High Secondary. Before the girls could get even near the school entrance Subject X grabbed a rock and threw it as hard as she could, at the back of the happiest girl walking away, and the girl just slowly stopped walking and passed out. The two others screamed and looked back at Subject X and started to run away as fast as they could. X walked up to the body, checked her pulse, and said, "You and me? We are going to become best friends." And started laughing hysterically while dragging the girl's body away, down a dirt road path, where she spotted an old abandoned warehouse.

The letter came in, later that week. The envelope read; SUBJECT X, I opened it and pulled the letter out;

Dear Detective;
We have lost track of where SUBJECT X may be, but a different tragedy has struck, and we think it is connected to X. Last week a group of three girls, all students from Sky High Secondary School, have had a scare with a mysterious girl, around the age of 17. The girls went out for lunch as a trio, but only two returned. The girl who is missing is Audrey. She is a straight A student and has no enemies. She is 5'7 and weighs only 102 lbs. She has curly, waist length, red hair, and has amber eyes. Her friends all miss her, and want to know what has happened to her. It's not known for sure where she is, but when the two others with her, came running inside, they said that Audrey got hit in the back of the head with a rock, passed out, and then X dragged her away down a dirt road, leading to an abandoned warehouse. And we need a good detective, like you, to investigate this crime. Be done within a week. We also need your sister to report to the parents of Audrey whilst you investigate, so they can be caught up on their daughter's disappearance.

I almost had to read the letter twice. Good thing I already re-read it three times. I just stood there, speechless, I couldn't believe it. It was so sad, yet I was disturbingly happy at having a job.  I put the letter down, and as I was about to put the envelope down a picture slipped out. It was of Audrey. She looked so happy, she was wearing a beautiful dress, she looked just like a princess, I flipped the photo over, and as I read the words, "Please find her, we miss her so much." It broke my heart, because I could feel deep inside me that Audrey was probably dead.
This is part 2, hope you enjoy it,
